Dark Night of the Soul: Rachel Nichols holds the key to curing a pandemic in upcoming thriller

A few years ago, Rachel Nichols starred in a pandemic thriller that was appropriately titled Pandemic. Now that we’ve spent a couple years in an actual global pandemic, Nichols has signed on to star in another pandemic thriller. Deadline reports that this one is called Dark Night of the Soul and will center on

a brilliant scientist who gets trapped in her car after a terrible crash. Isolated and struggling to survive, her survival is essential because she holds the key to cure a pandemic ravaging the world.

Written and set to be directed by SJ Creazzo, Dark Night of the Soul is coming to us from Dreamality Entertainment. Filming is scheduled to start in upstate New York sometime this fall. Funding is largely coming from private sources. Glass House will be handling distribution sales.

I became a fan of Rachel Nichols while watching the Christmas thriller P2, a movie I go back to pretty much every Christmas season, so I tend to watch every genre movie she makes. I look forward to seeing how Dark Night of the Soul is going to turn out. Nichols’ other credits include Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, The Amityville Horror, The Woods, Alias, Star Trek, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Criminal Minds, Conan the Barbarian, Alex Cross, Raze, Continuum, Inside, Titans, The Man in the High Castle, Breach, Demigod, and A Million Little Things.

SJ Creazzo previously directed Letting Life In, No Place Like Home, Lucas Booth: Journey to Unknown, The Ascent, My Little Demon, and Skipping Stones.

After typing the title Dark Night of the Soul so many times, I can’t stop thinking about the 1981 TV movie Dark Night of the Scarecrow.
