Based upon the Marvel Comics series created by Brian K. Vaughn and Adrian Alphona, Hulu's Runaways follows six teenagers as they unite against a common enemy, their criminal parents who are known as the Pride. The streaming service has released a trailer for the upcoming third season, which finds the team frantically searching for their captured friends Chase, Gert, and Karolina, as well as going head to head with an unstoppable enemy who has targeted Leslie — or more accurately, the child she's carrying. Nico draws them all into a dark realm where its ruler Morgan le Fay (Elizabeth Hurley) is much more nefarious than anyone the kids have yet to face.
You'll also notice that the trailer comes to an end with an appearance from Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) and Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt), better known as Cloak & Dagger. "It’s so fun being able to do something that revels in the Mighty Marvel Manner! Having these young heroes crossover allows fans of both shows to see the adventure everyone has been waiting for and we’ve only hinted at," said Jeph Loeb, executive producer and head of Marvel Television.
The official synopsis of Runaways' third season:
The heroes have left their homes (and evil parents) behind and now have to learn to live on their own. As they scavenge for food, search for shelter, and take care of one another, our kids begin to realize that, for better or worse, they’re stuck with each other. And it’s up to them to take down PRIDE once and for all. But someone sent a mysterious message to Jonah… Is there a mole in the Runaways? Meanwhile PRIDE is focused on finding their children, and Jonah has his own dangerous plan in mind.
The third season of Runaways will hit Hulu on December 13, 2019.
