FX is reportedly starting production next week on an animated pilot executive produced by RICK AND MORTY's Dan Harmon called LITTLE DEMON, starring Danny DeVito, his daughter Lucy DeVito, and Aubrey Plaza. Here's the synopsis:
13 years after being impregnated by the Devil (Danny DeVito), a reluctant mother (Plaza) and her Antichrist daughter (Lucy DeVito) attempt to live an ordinary life in Delaware, but are constantly thwarted by monstrous forces, including Satan, who yearns for custody of his daughter’s soul.
Sounds fun! Even if it does sound a little bit like the premise of the underrated early 2000's Adult Swim gem LUCY, THE DAUGHTER OF THE DEVIL. But FX has a pretty good track record with animated comedies, like ARCHER (created by Adult Swim's SEALAB 2021 co-creator Adam Reed), and Dan Harmon obviously has experience working on darkly comedic cartoons as well, since he is the co-creator of the aforementioned RICK AND MORTY (also on Adult Swim). And, frankly, I just want to see Danny DeVito voicing an animated Devil (though he did play a Satyr in Disney's HERCULES).
But what do you guys think? You think the premise can sustain itself? And did anyone else see and love LUCY, THE DAUGHTER OF THE DEVIL? Either way, sound off below!
