Despite not loving JURASSIC WORLD quite as much as I had hoped to, I've got high hopes for the upcoming sequel under the direction of J.A. Bayona (A MONSTER CALLS). With production due to kick off in March, JURASSIC WORLD 2 has been busy assembling a new group of dino-bait, er, actors, to join Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in the sequel.
Per Variety, the latest actor to join up is Daniella Pineda (The Detour, The Originals) in what is being called a key role as well as one of the new female leads. Naturally, the specifics of her role are being kept under wraps, but it's a safe bet to say that dinosaurs running amok will somehow be involved. Along with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, Pineda will be joining Justice Smith (The Get Down), Rafe Spall (PROMETHEUS) and Toby Jones (CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER). J.A. Bayona has confirmed that his film will be the second chapter of a JURASSIC WORLD trilogy and that it will be be "massive" and "way bigger than the last one." JURASSIC WORLD 2 is set for a June 22, 2018 release.
What are you hoping to see in JURASSIC WORLD 2?
