NO TIME TO DIE will continue on where SPECTRE left off, with James Bond having left active service to begin a new life with Dr. Swann, but franchise producer Barbara Broccoli teased to Entertainment Weekly that they don't waste much time completely blowing a hole through Bond's happy life. "He starts off on a romantic journey with Madeleine and then believes that he’s been betrayed by her," Broccoli said, with Léa Seydoux adding, "S— happens! Everything falls apart."
Bond is soon brought back into action when Felix Leiter comes calling to enlist his help in searching for a missing scientist. When it becomes apparent that the scientist was abducted, Bond must confront a danger the likes of which the world has never seen before in a villain armed with dangerous new technology. That dangerous new villain is Safin (Malek), who Broccoli said is "really a mean old thing." The film also features the return of Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Christoph Waltz), who is currently incarcerated in Belmarsh Prison, but has still found a way to communicate with SPECTRE agents. NO TIME TO DIE will hit theaters in the United Kingdom on April 2, 2020 and on April 8, 2020 in the United States.
