No Time to Die ad finds Daniel Craig enjoying a cold one while poking fun at delay

Everyone knows that James Bond likes his Vesper Martinis, but did you know that he also enjoys the taste of Heineken beer? It’s true, or at least that’s what a new ad for No Time to Die wants you to believe.

As part of the lead-up to the release of Craig’s final Bond film, No Time to Die, Heineken has released a new promo that has 007 relaxing with a beer served in green glass. Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Craig’s Bond enjoying the taste of Heineken. Fans of the Bond franchise may recall that the character was seen drinking the iconic beer in 2021’s Skyfall. When asked by Moviefone why Bond would order any drink beyond a dry martini or even a Sazerac, Craig replied, “Bond is a drinker, he always has been, it’s part of who he is, rightly or wrongly, you can make your own judgment about it, having a beer is no bad thing, in the movie it just happens to be Heineken.”

The ad features Daniel Craig’s James Bond relaxing to the smooth sounds of Portishead’s “Glory Box.” After being served the cold beverage, Bond carefully pours the liquid into a tall glass. After taking his first sip, he quips, “Well worth the wait,” which is a reference to the many times that No Time to Die has been delayed.

Much like Bond, I don’t mind kicking back with a Heineken now and again. Plus, this ad gets points for licensing a song from Portishead, one of my favorite bands of all time.

No Time to Die is finally set to be released in theaters on October 8, 2021. The film picks up after James Bond has left active service. His peace is short-lived when Felix Leiter, an old friend from the CIA, turns up asking for help, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology. Joining Craig for his final turn as the iconic superspy are Ana de Armas, Rami Malek, Léa Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Ralph Fiennes, Christoph Waltz, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, and Jeffrey Wright.
