Daniel Craig’s jump into superstardom by donning the 007 moniker was cloaked in the notion of a return to the Connery-era grit of James Bond with Casino Royale. Having been seen prior in movies like Layer Cake and Road to Perdition and eventually films like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the Bond actor had sealed his image as a dramatic actor. Craig would show his comic prowess full stop as he would star in a comedy like Logan Lucky and play the straight-laced detective in a wild murder mystery in Knives Out.

Recently, Craig is making headlines thanks to a new, funky Vodka commercial that showcases the star twisting the night away. Variety reports on the image-changing effort from Craig as he’s directed by Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi. The ad sports a song by Waititi’s wife, pop singer Rita Ora, and features his signature humor.

When the ad starts, it seems like an image out of Glass Onion, which recently had its premiere (with JoBlo’s own Chris Bumbray in attendance). Craig stands in a suave white suit looking out over the horizon of Paris. He turns around and reveals a crowd of paparazzi and fans swarming him for pictures and praise. Craig goes in one door of his car and comes out the other in new, cooler attire, complete with a leather jacket and shades.

From there, Craig starts to do the only thing you can do as a person in his shoes: strut. He then divulges his image change with a non-stop sequence of solo dancing that brings to mind Christopher Walken from Fatboy Slim’s Weapon of Choice music video. Craig enters his swanky French hotel and continues his routine, even showing off his James Bond physique as he shows off his guns and bicep tattoos while making his way down the fancy pool area, the rooftop, the occupied elevator, and eventually to his room where a cabinet of Belvedere Vodka waits for him, and we get a cameo by Waititi himself.

In this director’s cut, we’re even treated to some fun bloopers at the end. Craig makes his return as the flamboyant sleuth, Benoit Blanc, in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery this November 23 in a week-long theatrical release, then will be available on Netflix, starting on December 23.
