Bond is back…again. The latest trailer for the 24th Bond flick, SPECTRE, has arrived and while it amps up the action, it's still shrouded in mystery. Not that I'm complaining as it's kind of nice to be excited for a film without knowing every beat that's in store (well, unless you read the leaked script, of course). Daniel Craig burns with intensity in the lead role of 007 yet again, this time flanked with a stellar cast including Christoph Waltz, Dave Bautista, Monica Bellucci, Léa Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Stephanie Sigman.
Check it out:
Here's the synopsis:
A cryptic message from Bond's past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.
I know that some folks are a little divided on the last entry, SKYFALL, but I found it to be one of the most refined Bond films ever made (although I would've liked a better showdown between Bond and Javier Bardem's Silva in the end). Mendes is a fine catch for the franchise and although he says it'll be his last, I'm glad to have him for as long as we do. That goes double for Craig, who has proven to be a great fit for the role, giving a toughness to the character that hasn't been as prevalent with prior incarnations (although I'll always be fond of Brosnan, who may still be my favorite of them all). Mostly, I'm just happy to have another Bond flick on the way. Love 'em or not, they're always good for some popcorn entertainment in the least.
SPECTRE opens on November 6, 2015.
