Dan Harmon reveals that writing for Rick and Morty Season 6 has begun!

Despite RICK AND MORTY being in the midst of airing the second part of its fourth season, the animated series' co-creator, Dan Harmon, recently revealed that scripting for Season 6 is currently underway. Harmon said as much in a recent Instagram post, where in addition to hyping a special reunion table read for Community, he'd disclosed that Alex Rubens, a writer for the off-kilter animated comedy, is back for another batch of episodes that'll have the show's characters exploring parts unkown and more.

As a part of his detailed Instagram post, Harmon wrote: "One more magical thing about today: the script we're reading, 'Cooperative Polygraphy', is by Community and Rick and Morty alum Alex Rubens, who is BACK at RaM writing on season 6."

The fact that Harmon and his crew are already way ahead of the game when it comes to churning out content for RICK AND MORTY will come as no surprise to fans, especially when you consider that earlier this year, RICK AND MORTY voice actor Chris Parnell declared that the show aims to take shorter breaks between seasons.

"[Harmon and co-creator Justin Roiland] wanted some job security, and they wanted to know that the show was going to be around for a while so that they and the writers could get into some sort of momentum," Parnell previously told TVLine. "We'll see less lengthy breaks between seasons going forward because of that. And it's very gratifying to know we're going to have all those episodes. Hopefully, Jerry will be around for the duration. You never know."

In the years since its late 2013 premiere, RICK AND MORTY has become a pop culture juggernaut, inspiring fans all across the globe to crave any and all content from the animated love letter to Robert Zemeckis' BACK TO THE FUTURE and more. With episodes still remaining for season four, a fifth one in the hopper, and work progressing on season six, it's clear that fans are going to need countless vats of szechuan sauce if they're to be prepared for every outlandish antic and exploration of time and space.
