Last month, it was announced that the second season of the docu-series Cursed Films will be premiering on the Shudder streaming service on April 7th, and the five movies that will be covered over the course of the season are Roman Polanski’s Rosemary’s Baby, Andrei Tarkovsky’s Stalker, Wes Craven’s The Serpent and the Rainbow, Ruggero Deodato’s Cannibal Holocaust, and the 1939 musical version of The Wizard of Oz, directed by Victor Fleming. Now a trailer for season 2 of Cursed Films has been released online, and you can check it out in the embed above!
Physical media copies of the first season of Cursed Films can be purchased at at THIS LINK. The purpose of the show is to
explore the myths and legends behind some of Hollywood’s notoriously “cursed” horror film productions. From plane accidents and bombings during the making of The Omen, to the rumored use of real human skeletons on the set of Poltergeist, these stories are legendary amongst film fans and filmmakers alike. But where does the truth lie? Cursed Films reveals the events that haunted these productions through interviews with experts, witnesses and the cast, directors and producers who lived through the real-life events. Were these films really cursed, as many believe, or just the victims of bad luck and bizarre circumstances?
The series is written and directed by Jay Cheel. The first season covered Poltergeist, The Crow, Twilight Zone: The Movie, The Exorcist, and The Omen.
I liked three-fifths of the first season episodes, which is a pretty good track record. I’ll be watching Cursed Films season 2 for sure. But I might have to watch Stalker first… I’ve heard of the movie, but I’m not sure I’ve ever actually watched it.
