Curb Your Enthusiasm sets Season 11 premiere for October 24

Hold onto your sides, cringe comedy fans, because October is about to have you in hysterics. At the top of the month, all 180 episodes of Seinfeld will be making their way to Netflix, and now, we’ve gotten word that Curb Your Enthusiasm is coming back to HBO.

The 10-episode season, starring Larry David, returns on Sunday, October 24 (10:40-11:20 p.m. ET/PT), with new episodes airing subsequent Sundays at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Originally debuting on HBO in 2001 and presenting 100 episodes to date, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM stars Seinfeld co-creator David as an over-the-top version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his fictionalized life. The series also stars Susie Essman (Broad City), Jeff Garlin (The Goldbergs), Cheryl Hines (Suburgatory), J.B. Smoove (Mapleworth Murders), Ted Danson (The Good Place), and Richard Lewis (Anything But Love).

Presented as a comedic take on how seemingly trivial details of one’s day-to-day life – a long line at the coffee shop, a stained shirt, a dull razor – can lead to a series of unfortunate events, Curb Your Enthusiasm is shot without a script and cast members are given scene outlines and improvise lines as they go. While this formula doesn’t always yield the best results, this approach certainly has worked for Curb since the show’s 2001 debut.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is created by Larry David; executive producers, Larry David, Jeff Garlin, Jeff Schaffer; co-executive producer, Laura Streicher; consulting producers, Jon Hayman, Steve Leff.

Plot details for the eleventh season have yet to be revealed. However, J.B. Smoove recently told Deadline that the pandemic could be a part of the storyline.

I can’t tell you guys everything, but what I can say is Larry is really good at attaching his humor to the world and that’s consistently what he has done since Curb has been on HBO. He’s a master at it,” Smoove said when asked at the Creative Emmy Awards about Curb taking a chance on pandemic-related comedy. “He has this thing he does where he attaches himself and his thoughts and his opinions to the beat of whatever is going on in the world. You gotta watch and see what Larry does. He’s a genius, he really is.”
