We’ve got some pretty, pretty, pretty good news for fans looking forward to Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12. Who am I kidding? This development for the upcoming season is fantastic. Richard Lewis confirmed he’s returning for Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12 on HBO!
“I’m back shooting Curb!,” Lewis tweeted on Monday. “I’m a lucky cat to be with my oldest pal who just so happens to be a genius. Don’t tell him I called him that or he’ll mock me to my grave.” Lewis added.
Lewis, who plays a heightened version of himself in David’s long-running series, only appeared in one episode of the comedy’s eleventh season before exiting the show for health reasons. After recovering from various back and shoulder surgeries, Lewis says he’s ready to mix it up with his friend for more self-flagellation and supremely embarrassing scenarios. While Lewis did not disclose how many episodes he’ll appear in, Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12 sounds better than ever with the Frick to David’s Frack back for more shenanigans.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Lewis shattered his shoulder when he slipped while stepping out of a swimming pool. He was recovering from back surgery at the time of the accident, compounding his injuries and making a recovery more complex. On a positive note, Lewis’ wife introduced him to the magical world of Japanese toilets during recuperation.
“When she saw how much of a drag it is to get in and out of a bed when you can’t use your arm, she bought me this Japanese toilet,” Lewis excitedly explained in 2020. “When you walk into the bathroom, it opens automatically. I call it Sal.” I hear you, Mr. Lewis! Both of my toilets are outfitted with bidets, and once you experience the magic, there’s no going back. Bidet is the way, as I like to say.
