If you were watching the Grammys last night, you were greeted with a little treat from Disney. A new extended TV spot for the upcoming Cruella starring Emma Stone was released and it gives us a bit more insight into the origins of the popular Disney villain.
In the fresh look, Stone can be seen exchanging words with Baroness von Hellman (Emma Thompson) who insists that Estrella, who will later become Cruella, has to have a killer instinct if she wants to make it in the fashion industry. As the TV spot concludes, it appears that Cruella does find her killer instinct and her killer style.
Cruella is set in 1970s London and finds young fashion designer Estella de Vil (Emma Stone) becoming obsessed with dogs' skins, especially Dalmations until she eventually becomes a ruthless and terrifying legend known as Cruella. Directed by Craig Gillespie, the film also stars Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, and Mark Strong. Glenn Close, who played the titular character in the 1996 live-action remake and its sequel, is on board as an executive producer.
Did YOU like the new TV spot? Cruella hits screens on May 28, 2021.
