On the heels of yesterday's first trailer David Cronenberg's latest foray into the world of sci-fi with his upcoming MAPS TO THE STARS is Criterion's announcement that they will be releasing a true Cronenberg classic on DVD and Blu-ray on July 15th and it's filled with some kickass bonus features.
That's right, folks, SCANNERS will be hitting shelves in a matter of months and we've got all the goods right here! The new cover art (right) was done by Connor Willumsen and it's worthy of a purchase alone.

After a man with extraordinary—and frighteningly destructive—telepathic abilities is nabbed by agents from a mysterious rogue corporation, he discovers he is far from the only possessor of such strange powers, and that some of the other “scanners” have their minds set on world domination, while others are trying to stop them.
