Last week we shared a very intriguing trailer for the upcoming thriller SMILEY FACE KILLERS, which was written by AMERICAN PSYCHO's Bret Easton Ellis and reunites RIVER'S EDGE director Tim Hunter with actor Crispin Glover. Judging by the trailer, Glover's character leads a group of murderers in the film – and while we get a glimpse of his creepy visage in the trailer, special effects artist Vincent Guastini has given us a much better look at the transformation Glover underwent to play this role.
Guastini posted behind-the-scenes images of Glover on his social media accounts, and described what was done to alter the actor's appearance. He also included a couple pieces of concept art for makeup designs that were rejected by Glover. Guastini's work looks incredible, and makes me very excited to see Glover's character in action when SMILEY FACE KILLERS gets a DVD, Blu-ray, Digital, and On Demand release on December 8th.
SMILEY FACE KILLERS has the following synopsis:
As a strange wave of mysterious drownings of male college students plagues the California coast, Jake Graham struggles to keep his life together at school. Finding himself stalked by a hooded figure driving an unmarked van, Jake fears he may become the next victim in the killers’ horrific spree.
Glover's co-stars include Ronen Rubinstein and Mia Serafino.
