Simply put, Jennifer Kent's THE BABADOOK looks utterly terrifying. With each new look at the film, I'm more and more sold on this one, easily making it one of my most anticipated flicks of the fall. Now we've landed another look at the upcoming haunter, which will be making its way to limited theatrical and VOD release in the U.S. on November 28th (our friends across the pond in the UK get it on October 24…you lucky devils!). This 30-second trailer does a hell of a job making THE BABADOOK look to be one of the scariest flicks in recent memory. I'm so stoked for this one!
Written and directed by Jennifer Kent, THE BABADOOK goes like this:
Six years after the death of her husband, Amelia struggles to discipline her “out-of-control” six-year-old Samuel – a son she finds difficult to love. Samuel’s dreams are plagued by a monster he believes is coming to kill them both. When a disturbing storybook called “The Babadook” turns up at their house, Samuel is convinced that the Babadook is the creature he’s been dreaming about. And when Amelia begins to see glimpses of the creature herself, it slowly dawns on her that the thing Samuel has been warning her about may well be real.
THE BABADOOK stars Essie Davis, Noah Wiseman, Daniel Henshall, Hayley McElhinney, Barbara West and Ben Winspear.
