Every episode in the third season of Shudder’s Creepshow TV series has ended with a tease of the titles of the segments that will make up the next episode. The ending of last week’s episode let us know that the stories we’ll be told this week are titled Time Out and The Things in Oakwood’s Past – and it was the Oakwood title that really intrigued me. Now our friends at Bloody Disgusting have revealed that there’s even more reason to be intrigued by The Things in Oakwood’s Past: the segment is entirely animated, and the voice cast includes Mark Hamill and Danielle Harris!
Directed by Greg Nicotero and Dave Newberg from a script Nicotero wrote with Daniel Kraus, The Things in Oakwood’s Past has the following synopsis:
The town of Oakwood has a storied past, and the opening of a time capsule is an exciting moment of remembrance. But can a local librarian keep a darker part of the town’s history from repeating itself?
Also in the voice cast are Ron Livingston, Fayna Sanchez, Kate Thulin, and Andy Daly.
The Time Out segment of the episode was directed by Jeffrey F. January from a script by Barrington Smith and Paul Seetachitt. Starring Matthew Barnes, Devon Hales, Jibre Hordges, Lauren Richards, Jabari Marshall, Grant Feely, Shannon Eubanks, Kamran Shaikh, Emerson Bennett, Jody Whitehurst, David Alexander Kaplan, and Garrett Zehner, that one has the following synopsis:
Tim finds the answer to always wishing there were more hours in the day, but the success he can now achieve might not be worth the cost.
The Things in Oakwood’s Past isn’t the first segment of the Creepshow TV series to be entirely animated. Last year, Shudder kept the show going during the pandemic with the release of an animated special that consisted of adaptations of the Stephen King story Survivor Type and Joe Hill’s story Twittering from the Circus of the Dead.
Bloody Disgusting shared a batch of images from The Things in Oakwood’s Past, and a few of them can be seen below:
