Joe Carnahan's STRETCH is finally going to see the light of day at the beginning of October thanks to iTunes, Amazon, and other On Demand outlets. Despite a grasroots campaign online to have the wacky film released wide, it looks like a limited run is all the movie is going to get. And from the looks of this full trailer, that may be the best avenue for it.
STRETCH, as seen in this new full trailer courtesy of Entertainment Weekly doesn't look like the same epic type of movie making Carnahan has become known for with movies like SMOKIN' ACES and THE A-TEAM. STRETCH looks like a smaller film, something along the lines of a comedy version of Scorsese's BRINGING OUT THE DEAD. Probably not the type of movie that works well at the cineplex but definitely fits in for home viewing.
We also get a look at a new clip from the film featuring Patrick Wilson interacting with David Hasselhoff. As has become the norm for the former KNIGHT RIDER star, he plays a fictionalized version of himself, here a psychotic actor with a god complex and terrible stories about killing Vietcong soldiers. Trust me, just watch the clip.
STRETCH hits iTunes and Amazon on October 7th and other On Demand outlets on October 14th.
