Cowboys vs. Vampires lands domestic distribution through Origin Releasing

Origin Releasing has acquired the horror-western mash-up COWBOYS VS. VAMPIRES for domestic distribution with a release date set for April 16.

Originally titled DEAD WEST, then later changed to COWBOYS & VAMPIRES for its UK release, the film has undergone yet another title change for its North American release, throwing in the ever-popular ‘VS.’ into the title to give audiences a better idea of what the film has in store for them. An award-winning indie, COWBOYS VS. VAMPIRES scooped up the Best Picture honors at the 2011 Indiefest and is set to become Origin Releasings first title of the companies 2013 slate, hitting DVD and Blu-Ray this spring.

Written and directed by Douglas Meyers and staring Jasen Wade (AMBER ALERT), Emmy award winner Angelica Celaya (PERRO AMOUR) and Shannon Whirry (ME MYSELF & IRENE), COWBOYS VS. VAMPIRES concerns:

The story of a western movie actor (Johnny Dust) still trying to make it big in a western film studio and theme park, when a ‘new management team’ takes over the park and turns the film studio into a fright-fest for the month of Halloween. Haunted by the image of his dead western movie hero, who appears to him on the little screen, Johnny unravels the real intent of management and its opening night ‘spectacular’, which takes place in the depths of the park’s cave.
