Now, here's some news that is sure to brighten the weekend for STAR WARS fans across the universe! It would appear that Rian Johnson, beloved writer and director of THE LAST JEDI, is still pretty close to the galaxy far, far away, stating in a recent interview that he is still in talks with Lucasfilm to make more STAR WARS films, though had no news about them.
Woo-Hoo!!! Isn't that just the greatest thing you could possibly hear? I mean, Lucasfilm is still keeping the lines open with the guy who thought it'd be a good idea to have two space ships on a 1-mile-per-hour chase for two hours with a totally feasible trip to a casino planet where nothing happened in between! Yes, I am laying on the sarcasm thicker than the belly of the Sarlacc Pit, despite the fact that personally, I still liked some things in THE LAST JEDI. To be honest, I call bullshit on Lucasfilm being in any kind of serious talks with Johnson, however at least something positive came out of the writer/director's public lynching on social media: apparently, Johnson channeled all that angry fanboy energy into his new film, KNIVES OUT, which actually looks to be really fun! I mean, it's got a galactically epic cast that includes Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Michael Shannon, Ana de Armas, Don Johnson, Lakeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford, Jaeden Martell, Noah Segan, Edi Patterson, and Riki Lindhome. Even despite LAST JEDI, KNIVES OUT is definitely a movie I'd shell out a lot of Galactic Credits to see when it opens on November 27, 2019.
