A long, long time ago George Lucas approached David Lynch, who had been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director for THE ELEPHANT MAN in 1980, to helm RETURN OF THE JEDI. Lynch declined with "next door to zero interest" and went on to direct DUNE.
If you already knew that, turn off the caps and don't be mad, I'm just reiterating the tale as it helps with this here video I’m about to share. A YouTube user named C-SPIT uploaded a clip that lets us see what RETURN OF THE JEDI might have looked like had Lynch decided taken on the project. Cutting scenes from Jedi in fantastic Lynch style complete with lots of dissolves and random screams. The results are horrific and hilarious.
