While the opening title sequence is definitely still around, we don't see it pop up in films as often as we used to. One franchise which has kept that tradition alive throughout the years is the James Bond series, and many fans have used the James Bond style in order to create title sequences for other films. New York City’s School of Visual Arts student Kurt Rauffer recently shared his semester long project, a title sequence for THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK whose style of tone were inspired by the James Bond title sequences. Kurt used the rejected Radiohead song from SPECTRE as he "really wanted to play on the concept of Luke trying to find himself and true purpose, so the music and inspiration felt fitting."

Kurt said "growing up in the 90s where Star Wars was released on VHS, the franchise really sparked my imagination as a child. It not only let me exercise my imagination but also supplied me with some of the happiest memories as I watched it with my family. After re-watching "The Empire Strikes Back," I decided to use this as a chance to create a homage in the form of a title sequence." It's definitely a very cool sequence and I'd love to see the rest of the STAR WARS flicks get this treatment.
