When it comes to playing pathetic, down-on-their-luck, and losers at life characters, no one can do it quite like William H. Macy. From his Jerry Lundegaard from FARGO to his Little Bill in BOOGIE NIGHTS, the actor has made a career out of playing the saddest of sacks, and Huffington Post has created a fantastic tribute to the actor's "failure" roles in the form of a supercut simply titled "William H. Macy is Cinema's Number One Loser."
Running a little over four minutes, the supercut has clips from 27 different films, and features Macy characters (besides the two mentioned above) like poor Quiz Kid Donnie Smith from MAGNOLIA, A CIVIL ACTION's James Gordon (Jesus, I haven't thought about that movie in years), Sheriff Chappy Dent of HAPPY, TEXAS, and PLEASANTVILLE's George Parker. If you're a big William H. Macy fan, than you'll definitely want to check out this video. What's your favorite sad bastard performance from the actor?
"I used to be smart, but now I'm just stupid."
