Quentin Tarantino has raised a few eyebrows over the years for some of the things he’s said and some of the elements in his movies involving race. People have both criticized and defended his use of the “n-word,” and the discussion increased with the release of DJANGO UNCHAINED in December.
This video from Cracked probably isn’t going to change the minds of anyone who is critical of Tarantino. The “subtext subtitles” that Cracked provides at the bottom are hilarious, but the video on its own is actually pretty cringe inducing. There’s a couple of times I’m just thinking, “Dude…do you seriously not know how you sound right now?” I don’t want to turn this into a race debate, but if you were being interviewed by an Irish reporter or appearing on a Spanish news channel, you wouldn’t start talking like you’re from THE DEPARTED or start a conversation about bull fighting.
This doesn’t make me think any less of Quentin Tarantino (to me he just comes of as an overly excited cracker) but he might have to look out for Samuel L. Jackson…the dude does not look happy in this video.
