Cool Videos: Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band gets the Star Wars spin

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Growing up my two favourite things in life were STAR WARS and The Beatles, so I'd imagine that ten-year-old Kevin would have absolutely lost his shit at this mashup which remakes The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album with STAR WARS inspired lyrics. Jude Kelley and Dan Amrich, who record together under the name Palette-Swap Ninja, have been working on this STAR WARS/Beatles mashup for quite some time. On their site, they explained that they "sweat the details on both sides in an effort to do both cultural milestones justice. Writing hyper-specific lyrics that match the original songs' cadences; reverse-engineering everything the Beatles recorded, from distorted saxophone riffs to Indian tabla rhythms; recording everything from scratch and learning as we went — well, that's what takes five years." I think I know what I'll be listening to while I work today.
