If there was a monologue to sum up Samuel L. Jackson, this would be it. We all know it and love it, and that would be the excerpt from Ezekiel made famous in PULP FICTION. I suppose it should be no surprise that Sam Jackson knows the speech off the top of his head, but I still love his reaction on The Graham Norton Show when he’s asked if he remembers it. Keira Knightley‘s response pretty much sums up my thoughts as well.
Take in the classic here:
I’ll never forget seeing PULP FICTION for the first time, and not immediately loving it. I was actually kinda thrown for a loop, given it’s style and what the stories were about. But it stayed with me, and I watched it again, and again, and again. It doesn’t happen all the time, but I’ve come to appreciate those films that don’t immediately give you a knee-jerk reaction, and that you have to take time to digest. Ahhh, classic Tarantino.
I’ll be looking forward to seeing how Matthew Vaughn utilizes Sam Jackson in KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE, which opens on October 24, 2014.
