So, to start here, I have to say that I am a J.J. Abrams fan. There are some folks who just don’t dig the guys work, and that’s fine, but for me I think Abrams is one of the most creative and savvy filmmakers working today. In many ways, Abrams feels like the kid you grew up with, playing GI Joes, Star Wars, and Transformers in your backyard, dreaming about what that would look like on the big screen. It’s like he grew up and was able to bottle that kind of child-like wonder, awe, and imagination coupled with a kick ass sense of action and brought those dreams to life. Maybe that’s a a bit hyperbolic, but I’m fine with that. In celebration of his work to date, we have a new supercut to his work, which is a finely chopped tribute to his repertoire thus far, complete with some sweeping Michael Giacchino music (of course). It’s a fun look back that serves only to tease what he has in front of him.
Take a look:
J.J. Abrams, as per the usual, has a ton of projects on the way, including the new TV show Almost Human, his secretive book project, S, and then some movie with people using invisible powers and glowing swords. I think it’s called STAR WARS: EPISODE VII or something like that. His latest pic, STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS is out on blu-ray/DVD now (Get it HERE!)
