James Franco, who plays a thugged-out drug dealer named Alien in the recently-released SPRING BREAKERS, has enlisted the help of his family to plug the movie. Taking some time away from bridge club and The Price Is Right, Franco’s Grandma put out some choice endorsements for the film in this ad. I can’t tell if it’s a real ad or not, but it seems to be. Either way, it’s pretty humorous and ironic (obviously) having a granny support a movie about drunken debauchery and criminal activity. Seeing Franco jumping around in his Alien get-up while hearing his dear grandma talk lovingly about his work makes for some funny shit.
Once I’m done here today, I’ll be venturing out into the snow to see SPRING BREAKERS, which has its own irony (Dude, seriously, where the hell is Spring?).
