CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER is shaping up to be the single best Marvel movie to date, but that is not saying much as there have been several mediocre films leading up to this point. But, as far as the various franchises go, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER may have been the strongest debut for any film in the Cinematic Universe to date. But, that does not make it immune to nitpicking.
Cinema Sins latest entry in their “Everything Wrong With” series picks on CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER for being, well, the first AVENGERS movie. You can criticize the movie and say that it exists purely to set up Joss Whedon‘s super-team blockbuster, but the movie is also an incredibly enjoyable retro action movie. It could also be looked at as one of the few purely entertaining movies from Marvel Studios.
Either way you fall on CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, you will probably get a kick out of some of these nitpicks. For everyone else, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER hits screens this Friday.
