Activision Blizzard announced their presence with authority into a new realm of the entertainment industry recently when they launched their own film and television studio for the purpose of creating content based off their popular brands. With SKYLANDERS and CALL OF DUTY first up on the priority list, I speculated it was only a matter of time before they went to the Candy Crush well, given how much they had spent on acquiring the mobile game’s creator – King Digital – in the last month ($5.9 billion to be exact).
Apparently I wasn’t the only one with Stephen Colbert also theorizing the same inevitability was on the way, only he took it one step further last night on his LATE SHOW. He actually envisioned what the movie would look like, who would be in it and… well, take a look. I had only words. He has visuals with a much bigger budget behind them and the added bonus of Liam Neeson.
