Cool Video: YouTuber chronicles the history of Garfield horror

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Everyone knows about Garfield. He's that lovable (and endlessly merchandisable) fat orange cat who loves lasagna and annoying his loser cartoonist owner, Jon Arbuckle. He's also been the star of a hugely successful newspaper strip, Saturday morning cartoon show, big-budget film, and countless videogames.

However, there's a dark side to this mischievous cat as well, if you look hard enough. YouTube channel Scaredy Cats (a.k.a. Thought Slime) takes a deep dive into the terrifying world of Garfield horror, namely the "I'm Sorry, Jon" meme. In this video, the host discovers the origins of the meme, analyzes the truth behind the satirical reimagining, and showcases some gruesome (but often, oddly compelling) artwork showcasing Garfield as a grotesque eldritch horror, tormenting Jon and others.

If you were curious, I highly recommend giving this a look! (Also if you like this video, I also highly suggest you take a look at his Though Slime channel, as I personally feel it's one of the best channels on YouTube!)
