I put the Cats trailer audio over the Batman trailer.

Look, I know a lot of people enjoyed the newest dark and gritty Fandome trailer for THE BATMAN – and I did too! – but it's also always fun to deflate some of that self-serious sometimes (at least to me). So in the above tweet from Elvish Presley (@_elvishpresley_), we see THE BATMAN scored to last year's CATS trailer (with some great synergy in the editing, especially as Pattinson's Batman punching that thug almost perfectly syncs with Rebel Wilson's Gumbie Cat tap dancing and scatting). Also the slow, melodic "Memories" song is a banger at even the worst of times, but fits especially well with the broody atmosphere of the upcoming film.
And hey, I know this kind of humor probably isn't for everyone (probably not even most people), but I got a kick out of it, and maybe someone else might too.
Anyway, here's the official synopsis for the upcoming THE BATMAN reboot:
In his second year of fighting crime, Batman explores the corruption that plagues Gotham City, as well as how it may tie to his own family.
Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN – starring Robert Pattinson, Paul Dano, Jeffery Wright, and Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman – is currently set to brood in theaters October 1st, 2021…but we'll keep you updated if there are any changes/delays.
Meanwhile, CATS is about…you know what? No synopsis would do that film justice. It has to be seen to be believed.
So what do you guys think? Any fans of CATS…or am I the only one? Also, what do you guys think of THE BATMAN trailer? Either way, sound off below!
