Godzilla's son, named Minilla (who was the basis for "Godzooky" from the '70s Hanna-Barbara cartoon, and presumably also the basis for the stupid "Godzilla Babies" subplot from the 1998 American remake), was introduced in SON OF GODZILLA in 1967, where
the massive Godzilla comes to the aid of his newborn son, who hatches from an egg on a remote island where scientists are conducting experiments with radioactivity. Revealing a surprising paternal streak, Godzilla tries to teach his much smaller progeny how to use his powers. The father/son team must then battle giant insects, including praying mantises and a formidable spider. Can Godzilla protect his curious tike from the gargantuan bugs?
However, Toho's official GODZILLA Twitter account has posted a stop-motion animation called "COMING OUT" from Cressa Maeve Beer (@beeragon), where Minilla deals with her true identity as a trans girl, and Godzilla learns to respect and love his child no matter what. It really is heart-warming, and you can check it out in the tweet below:
Meanwhile, GODZILLA will next be seen in GODZILLA VS. KONG, still on track to stomp onto theaters November 19th! Here's the official synopsis for that film:
In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity's fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans' origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.
