Cool Video: Dokken’s retro “Dream Warriors” video!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

While Wes Craven's 1984 surreal horror-slasher A Nightmare on Elm Street is rightfully considered one of the best horror movies of all time, and Robert Englund's iconic dream demon Freddy Krueger became one of the most recognizable horror villains ever, its sequels – for the most part – don't quite stack up (or, like A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, are nigh unwatchable).

However, one of the exceptions was 1987's A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, directed by Chuck Russell (The Mask), and co-written by Craven himself! What sets this one apart, was the fact that the characters were actually able to fight off Freddy in their dreams…thus the title, Dream Warriors.

That…and the cheesy, but catchy, theme song from hair metal band Dokken also titled "Dream Warriors", which you can check out at the top of the article!

Here's the official synopsis for the film:

During a hallucinatory incident, young Kristen Parker (Patricia Arquette) has her wrists slashed by dream-stalking monster Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund). Her mother, mistaking the wounds for a suicide attempt, sends Kristen to a psychiatric ward, where she joins a group of similarly troubled teens. One of the doctors there is Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp), who had battled Freddy some years before. Nancy senses a potential in Kristen to rid the world of Freddy once and for all.

So what do you guys think? And what's your favorite horror closing credits song (I have a soft spot for "Bite the Hand that Bleeds" by Fear Factory at the end of Saw)? Either way, sound off below!
