Cool Horror Videos: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: A Family Portrait (documentary)

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Jimmy O’s somewhat favorable review aside, I’m hearing TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D is pile of steaming headcheese. Poetic f*ckin’ justice!

So, with that in mind, I call attention to the 1988 documentary THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: A FAMILY PORTRAIT, which we have in its entirety below. Now, many horror heads who own a DVD copy of Tobe Hooper’s 1974 original, have probably seen this neat little behind-the-scenes look, as it’s included as a bonus feature. But for those who haven’t seen it, I recommend it at once!

Written and directed by Brad Shellady – the documentary includes interviews with Gunnar Hansen (LEATHERFACE), Edwin Neal (THE HITCHHIKER), John Dugan (GRANDPA) and Jim Seidow (OLD MAN)…all inter-spliced with footage and trivia from one of the greatest horror films ever made.

Seriously, skip TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D and watch THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: A FAMILY PORTRAIT instead!
