The Merkins are the comedy team that has brought us the Slashstreet Boys videos in which iconic slashers Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Ghostface, and Leatherface form a boy band and perform Backstreet Boys-inspired songs "Slashing Bodies" and "I'll Kill You That Way". In the latest video posted to the Merkins' YouTube channel, Slashstreet member Leatherface has gone solo… and, fittingly for the character, gone country.
Leatherface's solo single is "Friends with No Faces", a parody of the 1990 Garth Brooks song "Friends in Low Places".
As with the Slashstreet releases, the Merkins have put a fun, comedic horror twist on a familiar tune with their Leatherface video. Not only do I enjoy watching the "Friends with No Faces" video as a fan of Leatherface and the TEXAS CHAINSAW movies, but it also earns extra points from me due to the fact that it was filmed in a location very close to my hometown.
If you like Leatherface, Garth Brooks, and/or what the Merkins have done with the Slashstreet Boys videos, give "Friends with No Faces" a look.
