Many of you hit the theaters over the weekend to check out Matt Reeves' DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, which had huge box-office numbers and has garnered rave reviews from both critics and audiences alike. Art and life collided over the weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, when two real-life chimps named Vali and Sugrive (both 2 years old) sat alongside their human counterparts in a local movie theater to check out the film. Let's hope real life doesn't imitate art. Hopefully the movie didn't give these chimps any crazy ideas.
The chimps, who live at the Myrtle Beach Safari, regularly watch television as a form of entertainment – and are big fans of the latest movie’s predecessor, RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. Below you'll find video of the chimps adventure at the theaters to see DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. I don't know about you guys, but I'd be kinda nervous sitting next to these adorable little chimps while checking out this film.
