It turns out Kevin Smith had a much bigger, apocalyptic ending planned for his 2011 film RED STATE, one that would have involved dozens of exploding heads and torsos being ripped apart. With only $4 million to spare, though, Smith had to dream a little smaller, which ultimately led to his original ending getting cut. It’s kind of a bummer, too, because there just aren’t enough exploding heads in cinema these days. Shame.
As part of EW’s Scene Unseen, Smith dishes out all the gory details about RED STATE's original ending, and it even gets animated video to show us exactly how it all would have went down. Dig it!
