Cool Horror Gear: You can get your own Ashy Slashy puppet in 2017

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Of all the immensely cool things that have been featured on the Starz television series Ash vs. Evil Dead over the course of its two seasons, ranking near the top of the list was the Ashy Slashy puppet that was featured in the second half of season two. The puppet was introduced as a therapy tool for series hero Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell), a felt buddy that was modeled in his likeness, right down to having a chainsaw in place of its right hand. Unfortunately for the show’s characters, but to the delight of the viewers, this puppet turned out to be just as nasty and dangerous as most things that Ash and his cohorts run into.

If you looked at Ashy Slashy and wished you had an Ashy Slashy of your own – and who wouldn’t want to have a puppet that looks like Bruce Campbell / Ash Williams? – then you’re in luck. The powers that be have recognized the marketing potential of this adorable little creep and NECA is currently working on creating a batch of Ashy Slashy puppets for EVIL DEAD fans to purchase.

There’s not much information available on the NECA puppets at this time, but the announcement of the collectible was posted on the company’s Twitter account this past weekend. As the tweet says, Ashy Slashy can be yours in 2017.

Starz’s Ash vs. Evil Dead picks up 30 years after the events of the EVIL DEAD / EVIL DEAD II / ARMY OF DARKNESS trilogy of films.

Ash has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead until a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind and Ash becomes mankind’s only hope.

Bruce Campbell stars alongside Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago, and Dana DeLorenzo.
