Cool Horror Gear: James Wan Funko Pop!

Just the other night I watched the Netflix original documentary MAKING FUN: THE STORY OF FUNKO. As you can imagine, the documentary follows the rise of the Funko brand and I highly suggest checking it out if shows like THE TOYS THAT MADE US is your kind of bag, baby. Either way, I think today's news should be right up your horror alley.

Today, we have word that Funko is producing a Funko Pop! figure based on none other than horror director supreme James Wan. For those who might not know (yeah, right) Wan is known for helming such classics as SAW, DEAD SILENCE, INSIDIOUS, DEATH SENTENCE, THE CONJURING, and THE CONJURING 2.

Okay, now here is the bad-ish news. 

This James Wan figure is only available to those in attendance of this year's San Diego Comic-Con. Wa-wa. But the reason I'm spreading the word on the figure here today is a) for all the people heading to this year's SDCC so they can make sure to grab a figurine. And b) hopefully fan enthusiasm is what I think it will be, and Funko will mass produce this item for the public. 

And how cool would it be if this gave Funko the idea of expanding their line to include MORE horror directors? I for one know I would buy up all the copies of Wes Craven, John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper, etc., etc., etc. Let's spread the word so we can get these figures in the near-future.
