As a die-hard nerd and collector, I'm proud to put it on display, be it statues on my shelves or clothing on my back. That makes this gift guide kind of special to me, as these are all things that I'd personally love to have on either. There's a diverse amount of stuff to fit all tastes, so everyone should be able to find something worth giving in this roster of goodies. From cool hoodies, shirts, headgear to awesome figures, statues, and cool trinkets, there's plenty of geek cheer to spread with these assorted goods. Find your faves and get to ordering! Cheers!
Indiana Jones Melting Candle ($31.39) – How could you not want to relive the death scene of Major Toht after the Ark of the Covenant unleashes its fury? Well, now you can, ever so slowly, with a candle that melts just like his face did in the film. That's some creative giftware to be sure.
Flux Capacitor Car Charger ($24.99) – "When this thing hits 88 miles per hour you're gonna see some serious shit." Well, you may not own a DeLorean and have the capability of time travel, but you can relive your nostalgia for BACK TO THE FUTURE (and charge your phone) everytime you step behind the wheel with this sweet little USB car charger modeled after the famous Flux Capacitor.
The Winter Soldier Hoodie ($79.99) – One of the best Marvel films to date, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER brought the titular antihero to the big screen for the first time, showing just how badass he can be from page to screen. Now, you can get your Bucky Barnes on with this kick ass Winter Soldier hoodie, which is modeled after the same one that debuted at Comic Con this year.
Star-Lord Hoodie ($59.99) – If you prefer the more traditonal hero look, then you can snag this nifty Star-Lord hoodie from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY instead. Folks may not recognize you at first, but once you save the galaxy and cause some mischief you likely won't have to remind them a second time.
Funko ReAction Figures ($7.49 & up) – There are far too many of these to only list one, so I've posted a few pics of some of the more notable ones, but these retro action figures based on popular movie properties are just too damn cool (and very affordable at that). From ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK to BACK TO THE FUTURE to NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET to ALIEN, there are so many great choices. I dare you to get just one.
Funko POP! Dancing Groot Bobble Head ($9.99) – This one is a preorder that won't arrive until a few days after Christmas, but that's nothing when it comes to witnessing the cute shenanigans of the reborn Groot from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY in the end credits. Perfect for your cubicle or car dash.
The Walking Dead building set – The Governor's Room ($38.00) – McFarlane Toys have outdone themselves with this new series of building sets for AMC's The Walking Dead. They're the most realistic LEGO-like sets you'll ever find and feature the usual level of detail you expect from McFarlane Toys. The Governor's Room is an exemplary piece that even lights up! Brilliant stuff.
The Walking Dead Rick Grimes – Resin Statue ($328.00) – One more Walking Dead/McFarlane Toys gift idea for you, this time from the Comic Book rather than the show, as the series star Rick Grimes takes on a few zombies with all the strength and grit we've come to expect. This was one of the coolest things they had on display at Comic Con and now you can transport it to your shelf.
Kre-O G.I. Joe Cobra Terror Drome Playset ($85.97) – As a child of the '80's, GI JOE was front and center for me. I grew up on the 3 3/4" figures and Kre-O has done a great job of recreating that nostalgia with their brick-tastic figures and sets. This Cobra Terror Dome is simply fantastic and comes with so many awesome add-ons (Serpentor!) that there's no way to resist.
Game of Thrones – Iron Throne replica ($48.28) – Although not the monstrosity that author George R.R. Martin envisioned in his books, the Iron Throne from the HBO series Game of Thrones is no less cool and something to display with geek pride.
Sad Keanu Statue ($45.00) – You're likely familiar with the Sad Keanu Reeves meme that's been going around for a while, which is derived from a candid photo taken of THE MATRIX and JOHN WICK star while sitting on a bench and looking, well, sad. Now, you can own your own little slice of sadness with a mini statue of ol' Keanu looking down in the dumps.
LEGO The Hobbit – The Lonely Mountain ($126.99) – No nerd Christmas is complete without some a new LEGO set and this is tops for the Holiday season. Relive the final battle with Smaug, Bilbo, and The Dwarves inside the lost kingdom in The Lonely Mountain brick by brick in this bad ass set that's a first for the famed dragon in LEGO form.
Star Wars Tauntaun Sleeping Bag ($149.99) – And you thought they smelled bad on the outside, eh? Well, now you can find out what it's like to sleep in the belly of a TaunTaun…sleeping bag, that is. Roll this one out at your next camping trip or sleepover and you're sure to be the envy of every geek in the room.
Star Wars Accordion Sunshade ($14.99) – With STAR WARS THE FORCE AWAKENS set to bring back the coolest ship in the galaxy (that's the Millennium Falcon in case there was any confusion) you can recreate its first voyage in A NEW HOPE with this sweet visor that has Han, Luke, Chewie, and Obi-Wan cruising the galaxy in your own "Millennium Falcon." May the Force be with your jalopy.
Darth Vader Polystone Statue by Sideshow Collectibles ($349.99) – If you're a fan of the most popular and iconic Sith Lord out there, then this is right up your alley. Sideshow is now slouch in the detail and craftsmanship in their statues and this one is definitely top notch. Interchangeable heads and arms allow you to customize his dark side wrath as well. Too cool.
Gladiator Hulk Premium Formatâ„¢ Figure by Sideshow Collectibles ($599.99) – This one is on the steep side, for sure, BUT there's always the payment plan (better late than never, right?). The premium format figures are top of the link and this iteration of the Green Goliath from the famous Planet Hulk storyline is a thing of monstrous beauty.
Gwen Stacy Polystone Statue by Sideshow Collectibles ($269.99) – Based on the art of J. Scott Campbell, this statue of Spider-Man's first and tragic love is expertly crafted, capturing all the detail and energy of Campbell's style. While her fate may have been unfortunate, her lasting impression on the webhead's legacy is everlasting, as is this statue.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Illuminating Sting Full Size Prop Replica ($129.95) – Whether you're a fan of THE LORD OF THE RINGS, THE HOBBIT, or both, one of the most popular weapons from all the books is Sting, wielded by both Bilbo and Frodo Baggins. What makes this replica so cool is that it features the blue glow that warns of approaching orcs. Don't stab your eye out.
Big Hero 6 10" Baymax Plush Figure with Sound Effects ($56.99 and up) – The most memorable, cuddly, and cool new character from Disney's BIG HERO 6 is undeniably Baymax and if there's one plush to buy this season, it's his. The fluffy white robot is the perfect gift for a loved one that let's them know you are "satisfied with your care."
DC Comics New 52 Justice League 7-Pack Action Figure Box Set ($74.08) – With BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE gearing up to launch/relaunch the DC cinematic universe in a big way, now's a good time to get your feet wet with some Justice League collectibles, particularly the New 52 batch of figures, which represent a lot of influence on the coming slate of films.
