Earlier this morning we shared the news that the popular UNDERWORLD franchise could potentially transition to the small screen with a television series, and now we're learning that another long-running film series may be making its way to TV as Variety is sharing that Constatin Films is looking to develop a new television spin-off of RESIDENT EVIL.
Constantin exec board chairman Martin Moszkowicz confirmed that a RESIDENT EVIL television series is in development, with plans to bring it to the small screen after the release of Paul W.S. Anderson’s next RESIDENT EVIL film (which could see a release in 2016). No further details were available.
We do know that Anderson's RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER was put on hold as the director and series star Milla Jovovich are expecting another child and will not be starting production on the film until after the baby is born. This means production could start sometime in 2015, but nothing is solid yet.
So what do you think of the news that we could be seeing a RESIDENT EVIL television series? Do you think it could work? Further, do you feel it would be worth checking out? Spit some bullets below and let us know what you think.
