Way back in February of this past year we let you guys know that there was a rumor going around that Shane Black's new take on PREDATOR was going to be taking place in the suburbs.
And today we have confirmation.
FOX CEO Stacey Snider was recently talking with Variety and let slip some info on Black & Dekker's upcoming THE PREDATOR, saying she had not been excited to read the script, but once she did, found it's suburbian setting and overall story to be "unexpected and utterly fresh".
20th Century Fox CEO Stacey Snider on THE PREDATOR:
We’ve got a “Predator” film coming out that is unexpected and utterly fresh. I just imagined that it would take 500 hours to read the script — that it would be interior jungle, exterior more jungle and then fighting happens, but Emma [Watts] went out and recruited Shane Black. From the first page, it didn’t read like a “Predator” film. It’s set in suburbia. There’s a little boy and his dad at the center of the action.
What do you think of a PREDATOR film set in suburbia? Do Snider's comments make you more excited to see the film? Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!
THE PREDATOR is directed by Shane Black and co-written by Black and Fred Dekker. The film stars Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Yvonne Strahovski, Olivia Munn, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, and Edward James Olmos.
THE PREDATOR hits theaters nationwide August 3, 2018.
