Fast Five composer Brian Tyler to score Marvel’s Iron Man 3

Composer Brian Tyler has been tapped to compose the score for Marvel’s upcoming IRON MAN 3, taking the reins from John Debney on IRON MAN 2, and Ramin Djawadi on IRON MAN.  Tyler is an accomplished composer, having worked non-stop on a number of high-profile projects.

Brian Tyler is a composer of over 50 films and was recently nominated for “Film Composer of the Year” by the International Film Music Critics Association. He composed and conducted the scores for “Eagle Eye“ for producer Steven Spielberg, the box office hit “Fast and Furious,” “The Expendables” and “Rambo” directed by Sylvester Stallone, “Law Abiding Citizen” starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, the Keanu Reeves thriller “Constantine,” the epic science fiction film “Battle Los Angeles,” “Fast Five,” and the best selling video game of all time “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.”  He also wrote the music for Steven Spielberg’s new 20th-Century Fox series “Terra Nova.”

Watch the man work:

As a big fan of film scores I’m totally cool with Tyler doing the score for IRON MAN 3.  Djawadi’s score for the first film grew on me and Debney’s score for the second really built off of that and I think Tyler will add a tremendous energy to the film.  Choosing Tyler tells me that director Shane Black is looking for someone who can deliver on theme and action, which gets me even more pumped for the movie.  You don’t hire Brian Tyler to score your cute little comedy.  You hire him when you want blood pumping through veins.

Marvel’s IRON MAN 3, starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Ben Kingsley, James Badge Dale, Rebecca Hall, Guy Pearce, and William Sadler is slated to hit theaters on May 3, 2013.
