It may seem somewhat of a disappointment that the Star Wars panel at Hall H will NOT be sporting a new STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS trailer, but that doesn't mean there wont be plenty to talk about or show off. J.J. Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy and Lawrence Kasdan will be taking the stage with some special guests, and if this rumor is true, one of those guests just might be JURASSIC WORLD director Colin Trevorrow.

Trevorrow hit it big with his second theatrical effort, JURASSIC WORLD, which has already grossed $1.4 billion worldwide. Not bad for his first big-budget film, eh? Given the length it took a 4th JURASSIC PARK film to get off the ground and the ease of which Trevorrow seemed to accomplish it, it comes as no surprise that he may be the name chosen to direct the third film in this new STAR WARS trilogy, EPISODE IX.

According to Heroic Hollywood, Trevorrow is the man who will be announced as the director and brought out during the panel later today. He would, of course, be following J.J. Abrams who's directed EPISODE VIII, and Rian Johnson (LOOPER) who's poised to direct EPISODE VIII. It makes sense that Disney would want to lock this guy down for another franchise film from a business standpoint, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Either way, we'll know for sure soon enough and keep you updated! No word yet on whether or not Luke will create a shaky alliance with a pack of trained wampas.

STAR WARS: EPISODE IX will hit theaters sometime in 2019.
