A bunch of actors have been added to the cast for Liza Johnson's ELVIS & NIXON. THR has learned Colin Hanks, Johnny Knoxville, Alex Pettyfer (MAGIC MIKE), Tracy Letts (Homeland) and Sky Ferreira (THE GREEN INFERNO) have joined the film, and they'll star alongside Kevin Spacey (as Richard Nixon), Michael Shannon (as Elvis Presley) and Evan Peters in the upcoming drama inspired by the 1970 meeting between the rock icon and U.S. President.
Hanks is set to play Nixon aide Egil Krogh, and Knoxville will play Elvis' head of security. Pettyfer has been tapped as Elvis' best friend Jerry Schilling, who was also in Washington D.C. when Elvis met Nixon, while Ferreira will star as Schilling's love interest.
I haven't seen Liza Johnson's HATESHIP LOVESHIP or RETURN, however I'm very impressed with the actors she has landed for her new movie. According to IMDB, ELVIS & NIXON is currently filming in Atlanta, so it will likely be released in late 2015, or sometime in 2016. Which are you more excited to see: Kevin Spacey as Nixon or Michael Shannon as Elvis?
