The film adaptation of popular role-playing game World of Warcraft might have found its leads. According to Deadline, Legendary Pictures has offered two major roles to Colin Farrell and Paula Patton. While nothing is set in stone, Patton is reportedly negotiating with the studio, while Farrell has just been offered a part, but it’s uncertain whether or not he’ll accept.
Charles Leavitt (BLOOD DIAMOND) wrote the screenplay for WARCRAFT, which was teased back in July at San Diego Comic-Con. Production is reportedly set to begin in January.
WORLD OF WARCRAFT is an online game where players from around the world assume the roles of heroic fantasy characters and explore a virtual world full of mystery, magic, and endless adventure. Depending on the game you’re playing, you can encounter dragons and orcs, zombies and werewolves, aliens and spaceships – and everything in between.
WARCRAFT does not have a release date yet.
