Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace are set to star in a brand new thriller called DEAD MAN DOWN. The film has been fully financed by IM Global and will be produced by Neal H. Moritz (THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS franchise, I AM LEGEND) of Original Film and screenwriter J.H. Wyman (“Fringe”, THE MEXICAN) of Frequency Films.
During shooting Rapace will be reunited with THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO director Niels Arden Oplev, who will also make this his first American film.
In the $30 million flick, Farrell will portray the right hand man to an underground crime lord in New York City who is seduced and blackmailed by Rapace’s character, a crime victim seeking retribution. Their intense chemistry leads them spiraling into payback delivered in violent catharsis.
Oh man, can’t wait to hear Farrell butcher a New Yawk accent again. Still, the duo could certainly make for an exciting film.
Moritz thinks so. “I could not be any more excited about ‘Dead Man Down’ and the team we have assembled.”, he says, “Joel Wyman has written a terrific script, Colin and Noomi are perfect casting and Niels is a truly gifted filmmaker. My partners at IM Global and I look forward to delivering a terrific action thriller to the marketplace.”
The film will begin shooting early next year.
