Greenlit by Syfy last July, the grindhouse throwback series Blood Drive is finally set to begin filming this August, and as the production start date nears a new cast member has been announced: Colin Cunningham, an actor with 100 credits to his name, who may best known for his role on the TNT series Falling Skies. Cunningham will be a series regular on Blood Drive, having signed on to play a character called Slink, "the nastiest creature you’ll ever dread to meet, created from an ether of pure corruption and sin."
That sounds like a character an actor could really have some fun playing, and if you've ever seen Cunningham's performance in the "We All Scream for Ice Cream" episode of Masters of Horror you'll know that he can play one hell of a scumbag when given the chance.
Set in a near-apocalyptic future Los Angeles, Blood Drive centers on an underground death race in which the cars run on human blood.
Slink is the mastermind of the titular Blood Drive.
Cunningham joins previously announced cast members Alan Ritchson, who will be playing police officer Arthur Bailey, and Christina Ochoa, whose character Grace Argento is a dangerous femme fatale.
The first season of Blood Drive will consist of 13 episodes. The series was created by James Roland.
