When author Clive Barker's Books of Blood short story collections were published in the mid-1980s, Stephen King said, "I have seen the future of horror and his name is Clive Barker." Barker went on to prove King right with his work in both the literary world and in film. His stories have served as the basis of movies like CANDYMAN, THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN, and the recently released BOOKS OF BLOOD, and Barker has brought some of his stories to the screen himself, directing NIGHTBREED, LORD OF ILLUSIONS, and the massive franchise starter HELLRAISER.
Barker has brought so much to the genre over the decades, it was only a matter of time before we inducted him into our HORROR HALL OF FAME – and now it has happened! In the video embedded above, we honor Barker for his contributions to horror.
